We tried to blend build, design and specs into one affordable package with Elephone M3. With much of its specs leaning into more higher-end territory and a better build than you’d find on most Chinese smartphones, we have achieved the right balance.

There are two versions of Elephone M3, the high spec is with 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM, and another version is 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM.

Under the hood of the M3 are some pretty impressive specs, keeping in mind how much the M3 costs. We have put a MediaTek MT6755 at the heart of this device, which is itself an octa-core 64-bit CPU with dominant frequency 2.0GHz.

Backing this up is 3GB RAM of the high spec version, and speaking of gigabytes there’s 32GB of storage, as well as a microSD card slot for expansion. Keeping everything running is a 3,000 mAh battery, and the display is a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Despite the size of the display, the Elephone M3 is just 7.7mm thick, 149.9mm tall and 74.3mm wide. Just like Elephone S3, Elephone M3 is also with aviation aluminum metal body which has extraordinary grip feeling in hand.

Camera-wise, as we talked in previous article, there’s a 21-megapixel rear-facing camera which is a Sony IMX230 sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 and there’s a 8.0-megapixel front-facing camera as well. M3 rear camera makes appropriate compensation to shaking. Even in dim light, high-quality photos can be shot by it. Meanwhile, this feature is also applied in video shooting, improving image stabilization, ensuring the coherence and clarity of the image, freezing touching moments.

Elephone M3’s operating system will begin with the build of Andorid 5.1 Lollipop, but it is sure that it will available to update Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Besides, just like Elephone P9000, except supporting type-C and touch-ID, it’s also featuring with PUMP Express Plus (called “PE+”) Quick Charge, available to be full charged in 10mins for 2-hour call. Now, you’re the type of user that doesn’t want the absolute best in a smartphone, and software niceties don’t bother you then the M3 will more than likely suit you.

With such a high end specification, a subtly elegant design and a price tag of less than $200 of the high end version, it's becoming hard to think of reasons to keep paying exorbitant prices for premium brands.
